Vanessa Morgan Reveals the Name of Her Baby Girl

Vanessa Morgan reveals her daughter’s name!

Kaia Autumn Skye, her first child with boyfriend James Karnik, was born on Saturday, July 27, the actress, 32, announced in a Wednesday, Aug. 21 Instagram post. Morgan previously shared a TikTok video revealing Kaia’s arrival on Aug. 1 but held off on sharing more details until now.

“Been enjoying all the baby snuggles these past 3 weeks with our angel. Beyond Grateful 🫶🏽,” Morgan wrote in the Instagram caption.

The post included photos of her and Karnik holding their baby girl’s hand. In one photo, Kaia is seen in her older brother River’s arms as he looks lovingly at her. Another photo includes a shot of Kaia and River’s feet, with Kaia placed in River’s lap.

Morgan shares her 3-year-old son River with ex-husband Michael Kopech.

In another photo, Karnik is seen holding the infant in his arms as Morgan sits beside them. Kaia was dressed in an adorable outfit that included a polka dot skirt and a lace-trimmed long-sleeve shirt.

One more photo shows Morgan giving Karnik a kiss on his cheek as she wraps her arms around his neck and Kaia’s back.

The Instagram carousel concluded with a sweet photo of the four. Morgan and Karnik gave each other a peck, while Kaia slept against her father’s chest and River smiled directly at the camera.

Several friends and followers commented on the family’s new addition. Morgan’s Riverdale costar Skeet Ulrich wrote, “Such a beautiful family ❤️❤️.”

Her Wild Cards costar Giacomo Gianniotti added, “Congrats to the new member of the happy family ❤️❤️.” Margaux costar Madison Pettis commented, “So precious 🥹.”

The Riverdale alum previously announced she welcomed her second baby with a TikTok video posted on Thursday, Aug. 1. The video captured Karnik carrying their baby out of the hospital. 

“The famous hot dad walk while leaving the hospital didn’t disappoint,” she wrote.

“Ok fine, knock me up again 😂🤰🏽,” she joked in her caption, resharing the video on her Instagram.

Karnik posted the same video on his Instagram Stories alongside the caption, “Little did yall [sic] know my girl was waiting for this video/moment since we first found out.”

The couple announced they were expecting in an Instagram post from Morgan on July 6. The next day, Morgan revealed the sex of her and Karnik’s baby in another Instagram post, writing, “My GIRL🌸.. can’t believe you’re gonna be here any day now.”

After welcoming River in January 2021, Morgan spoke to PEOPLE in November 2021 about the parenting advice she received from her former Riverdale costar, Mark Consuelos, and his wife, Kelly Ripa.

“I talked to Kelly [and Mark] after I gave birth [to River],” she said at the time. “They were just excited for me, and gave me beautiful, beautiful baby clothes for River.”
