Travis Kelce on How He Feels About Typo on $40,000 Super Bowl Rings

Travis Kelce isn’t bothered about that Super Bowl LVIII championship ring typo.

On Thursday, June 13, the Kansas City Chiefs were presented with diamond and ruby-encrusted $40,000 rings to celebrate their 2024 Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11, 2024.

Fans have since noticed there was a small typo on the interior of the rings, which featured the seeding for Kansas City’s four postseason opponents: the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins.

During Wednesday, June 19’s episode of the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, the brothers addressed the Dolphins being listed as the seventh seed instead of the sixth.

“One major little goof on the ring, Miami is listed as the seventh seed because it has all of the games you guys had to win to get there. Miami was actually the sixth seed. I guess that’s just the way the ring is. Like, nobody’s gonna… are you gonna get it fixed?” Jason said.

“I don’t give a s—,” Travis responded, as Jason asked, “Does anybody care?”

“I like it that we didn’t give a f— about what seed Miami is,” Travis went on. “They were the seventh. Who cares? They could’ve done no seeds on the side of them. I would’ve been fine.”

“I think it makes it more unique. Like, ‘Oh, yeah, we made it really detailed, and, oops, we screwed up,’ ” the sports star continued, adding that it “makes it more exclusive.”

“We screwed up about something that means nothing,” he added.

Jason also asked the Kansas City star to select his “favorite” championship ring out the three he’s won with the Chiefs.

“I mean, this one’s pretty damn cool,” said travis. “This one has… it’s massive. It has, like, the shape of the oval of the football with just diamonds going around it. It feels like a championship ring when you look at it. It’s like, ‘Damn, that thing feels and looks like a championship ring.’ ”

“But I would probably say the one last year was my favorite one,” the NFL star told the podcast, referencing the ring he got after the Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 at the 2023 Super Bowl. “The top of the ring comes off and you can it has a clasp that you can wear it in different ways.”

Travis said that if he were to ever wear one of the lavish rings out, he “would probably wear that clasp on a necklace,” adding that you can’t normally wear them anywhere because of how extravagant they are.

After the ring ceremony, which was held at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Chiefs shared a video of the jewelry on X. “529 diamonds. 38 rubies. One back-to-back champion,” the team captioned a clip.
