Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard Doesn’t ‘Lift a Finger’ amid Pregnancy (Exclusive)

When it comes to her pregnancy, Lindsay Hubbard‘s boyfriend is the doting type!

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the launch of Just Ice Tea’s Lewie’s Lemon Tea on Aug. 25, the Summer House star, 38, opened about how her partner has supported her throughout her first pregnancy and the ways he’s catered to her needs.

“He’s been incredible. I mean he’s so obsessed with our child,” she gushed, adding how she and her boyfriend have been attached at the hip since announcing the happy news. “He’s like, I just can’t wait to meet her.”

“I’m so excited to meet her,” Hubbard says of their impending baby girl. “He really is so incredible, like I don’t lift a finger when he’s around. He’s just great.”

On Thursday, July 4, the Bravolebrity announced that she was expecting her first baby with her new boyfriend. She previously opened up about the relationship during the Summer House season 8 reunion in June, revealing that she was dating “a wonderful man.”

“We actually went on a few dates three and a half years ago,” Hubbard said. “It was just bad timing back then for him and for me, and then he kinda popped back up in December and we started dating in January.”

“I would say it’s tracking in the pretty serious direction,” she added. “He’s been a great support.”

The news of her bundle of joy came nine months after Hubbard’s castmate Carl Radke, 39, ended their engagement. The two got engaged in August 2022 and planned to say “I do” in Mexico in November 2023 before he ended things in August 2023 after a summer of conflict, including disagreements about Radke’s next career step and lack of intimacy in their relationship.

News of the cancelation of their Mexican wedding was confirmed in a letter to family and friends obtained by PEOPLE in September.

“Words cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I,” Radke wrote at the time. “We are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves.”

Now, Hubbard tells PEOPLE that last year “was such a whirlwind” after the news of her broken engagement, but she’s excited to step into this new chapter of life.

“In the blink of an eye, I was staring down the barrel and I’m like, ‘I’m single and starting over, this is insane,'” she recalls. “In my mind, I’m like, you know what? Clearly the universe did not want that traditional life for me.”

“I’m excited for it to be almost like a full circle moment. I’ve obviously had a tumultuous relationship with my mother my entire life and I think the fact that I am having a baby girl is really beautiful because it gives me the opportunity to do things differently, and break that cycle,” she says. “So I think that’s what I’m looking forward to most is giving my daughter things that I didn’t have from my mom.”
