Shania Twain Brings Out Boys II Men for Surprise Duet at Her Las Vegas Residency

Shania Twain was in for quite the birthday surprise when Boyz II Men joined her onstage in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, the country singer belatedly celebrated her 59th birthday (the actual date was Aug. 28) during one of the performances of her Las Vegas residency by inviting the members of the iconic R&B group to join her on stage for a duet.

In a video shared to Twain’s X (formerly Twitter) account, fans can be heard cheering as Shawn Stockman, Nate Morris and Wanya Morris stepped onstage to accompany the singer for performances of her 1997 hit “You’re Still The One” and the iconic Boys II Men track “I’ll Make Love To You.”

However, before leaving the stage, the group surprised Twain with a birthday cake and an impromptu rendition of “Happy Birthday” — and of course, they got the crowd to sing along before she blew out her candles.

“Happy birthday,” the trio told to the singer. “We truly appreciate you inviting us onto your beautiful stage.”

Twain later thanked the trio on X for stopping by to celebrate her big day, writing, “As a little birthday celebration and surprise for my fans I invited @BoyzIIMen on stage at my Vegas show last night – But what I didn’t anticipate is them, @LiveNationVegas and @CaesarsEnt surprising me with a cake!! 🥰”

“Would you believe I hate being the centre of attention considering my career?! 😂 Thank you to my husband, Boyz II Men, my awesome crew, everyone at @PHVegas @PHLiveVegas and of course to my beautiful fans for celebrating with me. I’m feeling very loved ❤️.”

Twain also received some birthday well-wishes on her actual birthday, too — on Wednesday, her husband Frédéric Thiébaud wished her a happy birthday with a sweet tribute on Instagram.

The businessman, 54, shared a photo of the couple smiling and sharing an intimate moment together on a boat, alongside a happy birthday message.

“Happy birthday to this amazing human being @shaniatwain 😍🥳🎈🍰,” he wrote.

Also on Wednesday, the singer shared a birthday message of her own to Instagram, posting a video that featured tons of clips from her residency set to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”

“Today is my birthday and I’m feeling like a badass queen!” she captioned the heartfelt post.

“Thank you for all the love and birthday messages, I love you guys!” she continued. “AND I can’t wait to celebrate with you all in Vegas this week 🥰 Who’s coming out to a show? Let’s go totally crazy and have a s— kicking time!! 💥🥳.”

Twain kicked off her Come on Over residency back in May, marking her third Las Vegas residency in her career. Shows are set to run until December at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood.
