Deadpool & Wolverine Global Box Office Crosses $900 Million; $1B Next

THURSDAY UPDATE: With Wednesday’s business included, Deadpool & Wolverine has now crossed the $900M global box office mark. The worldwide cume through yesterday is $903.3M. As previously noted (see below), BFFs Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will carry the Marvel/Disney hit across the coveted $1B threshold this weekend.

The current international box office cume is $472.3M, with domestic at $431M. Yesterday added $14.1M overseas while North America logged another $9.8M.

Domestically through Wednesday, D&W passed Captain Marvel ($427M) to become the No. 8 all-time MCU release.

Internationally, the Shawn Levy-directed smash has now topped Deadpool 2 ($461M), making it the 3rd biggest R-rated release ever offshore. D&W’s cume has also now exceeded the final totals of both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 domestically, internationally and globally. It had already passed them on a domestic and worldwide basis.

Here’s the updated Top 10 overseas through Wednesday: China ($49.6M), UK ($48M), Mexico ($34.9M), Australia ($26.4M), Germany ($21M), France ($20.6M), Brazil ($19.2M), Spain ($16.9M), India ($16.6M) and Italy ($14.4M).

PREVIOUS, WEDNESDAY: Deadpool & Wolverine is nearing the $900 million global box office mark as it enters its third week of worldwide play. With Tuesday’s grosses included, the current total on the Shawn Levy-directed smash is $879.2M, of which $421M comes from domestic and $458.2M from the international box office. When today’s figures are tallied, the global total is expected to cross that nine-century milestone.

As for the next notch in the Merc with the Mouth’s belt, $1B is expected to hit this weekend. When that benchmark is crossed, Deadpool & Wolverine will become only the second U.S. R-rated movie ever to get there — after 2019’s Joker — and will overtake Oppenheimer as the second-biggest R-rated title of all time, adding to its list of records. D&W will reach $1B faster than Joker, though that film did not have a China release. It will also be Disney’s second billion-dollar grosser this year after Inside Out 2, as well as only the second movie of 2024 to the post.

This past weekend, D&W already topped the worldwide cumes of both Deadpool ($783M) and Deadpool 2 ($786M)

Yesterday saw the Marvel/Disney juggernaut move up the domestic ranks, passing both Iron Man 3 ($409M) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($411M) to enter the Top 10 MCU films ever. D&W currently sits at No. 9 behind Captain Marvel, which it will pass today.
