I love Chinese and especially noodles when they have a good flavour rather than just boiled plain noodles so I decided to find a way of making healthy Chow Mein noodles and this is what I came up with!
Adding vegetables to your Chow mein noodles
This Chow mein noodles recipe does contain some vegetables but it is important to add others somewhere in your meal too. This is because most diets encourage you to increase your vegetable intake and reduce the carbs and fats you eat.
Vegetables are low in calories compared to their density. This essentially means that they fill you up with very few calories. The more vegetables you have in a meal either as a side dish or mixed in with the meal itself the lower-calorie the meal tends to be. A filling but low-calorie meal is perfect for weight loss.
Always choose vegetables that you enjoy because otherwise, you will begrudge eating them. Sweet and sour vegetables are nice and a great way of adding vegetables to this recipe.

It is so easy to order a takeaway but then you soon regret it afterwards. With my fakeaway recipes, you can have all the flavours of a takeaway without the excess calories and fat.

Comfort eating
It is easy when you are trying to lose weight to fall into the trap of comfort eating when you are feeling down. Perhaps by ordering a Chinese takeaway. Alternatives like this could really help you with your weight loss plan to have the foods you enjoy without gaining weight.
Finding healthy snack alternatives can help you avoid weight gain. You do not need to just snack on fruit and vegetables to be healthy there are so many other alternatives.
If you find that you are regularly feeling down and snacking then maybe you need to address this as possible depression and consider seeing your GP. We all have struggled every now and then so it really isn’t something to be ashamed of.
Another option instead of eating at all could be to find something else to do instead of eating when you are feeling down. Give it some thought and see if you can come up with any strategies to help yourself.

Description
These delicious chow mein noodles are a great alternative to a takeaway and really easy to make yourself at home whilst also usually being syn free on Slimming World (check yourself as this can change).
250g pack of dried medium egg noodles
2 cloves garlic (crushed)
2cm ginger (finely grated)
1 Pak Choi (roughly chopped)
1 stick of celery finely chopped
1 Onion (sliced)
2 Handfuls of beansprouts
1 tsp Chinese Five Spice
4 tbsp. Dark Soy Sauce
2 tbsp. Rice Vinegar
Cook the dried egg noodles according to packet instructions.
Meanwhile using a large frying pan fry 2 cloves of garlic (crushed), 2cm ginger finely grated, 1 Pak choi (roughly chopped), one onion (sliced), 2 handfuls of beansprouts, 1 tsp Chinese five-spice, 4 tbsp. dark soy sauce, and 2 tbsp. rice vinegar.
When the vegetables are tender mix with the cooked noodles.
Serve immediately or allow to cool and microwave to reheat thoroughly.
